Supervisor lenora carpenter-beets

A native of Louise, Mississippi and an alumna of both Mississippi Valley State University and of Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, Evangelist Lenora Beets permanently settled in the Hawkeye State after uniting in Holy Matrimony to Elder Wendell Anthony Beets in 1975. She is the mother of four children.

Under the auspices of the late Mother Ruth Robinson, former Iowa Jurisdictional State Supervisor of Women, Evangelist Beets received her Missionary license in 1979 from the Honorable Bishop Hurley Bassett Sr., Prelate of the Iowa Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, Inc.  Evangelist Beets hit the ground running, serving in several capacities that have included Sunday School Teacher, Secretary of the M.W. Goodman District, and Chairlady of the W.D. Smith District YPWW, District Missionary and Assistant Jurisdictional Supervisor. She presently serves as the Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women as appointed by Bishop LeRoy Johnson of the Iowa Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction and was installed by Mother Willie Mae Rivers in 2013.  Supervisor Beets was appointed by Dr. Barbara McCoo Lewis, International General Mother of the Department of Women, in 2017 to the International COGIC Holy Convocation Program Committee and to the International Senior Love Committee.

While remaining undyingly faithful to both her family and various ministerial entities, Evangelist Beets has managed to uphold several community obligations.  Inspired with a spirit of service impelled by the Great Commission, her commitments include the Linn County Prayer Ministry, Faith Community Building the Gap, and actively serving as a healthcare and HIV/AIDS activist. Evangelist Beets works in the trenches of the community as a certified clinician on HIV/AIDS awareness, heartily working to educate the community on the HIV/AIDS pandemic and to increase the access of proper and adequate healthcare to the African-American community.  In accordance with a federally funded coalition, Evangelist Beets enlightens the community on other issues such as cancer and cardiovascular health and disease.  She consistently empowers her congregation and community members alike to adopt a proactive approach and stand when it comes to their health and other pertinent health issues.  Utilizing her advanced degree, she is currently employed as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

Evangelist Beets’ desire to remain humble and sweet, and at the feet of Jesus as she continues to carry out God’s plan for her life.
